MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – September 30, 2013 5:00 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Ed Deming discussed the coverage for the Transfer Station Attendant. Randy Paul is interested in covering when his schedule allows. The Department of Public Works staff will continue to cover.
Grader bid opening 5:05PM
Tyler Equipment Model 946 Interim Tier 4 Volvo $251,016.00 base $22,500.00 trade
Schmidt Equipment Model 672GP John Deere $280,150.00 base $38,000.00 trade
Sales Representative from Schmidt stated that a full tier 4 requirement will be required as of January 1.
Milton Cat Model 120 Interim Tier 4 $238,534.00 base $$38,500.00 trade
Bids were taken under advisement by the board and given to Ed Deming Highway Superintendent for review.
Ed requested authorization from the board to move forward with a clothing allowance versus the uniform service they currently have. Ed is finding the service to be costly and feels the town would do better with the allowance.
Michael Sullivan, Fire Chief informed the board of the Volunteer’s chatter in regards to gong to a possible stipend call in system. Michael feels that the department is not there yet but wanted to give the Selectboard the information. There a currently 14 active members.
The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to appoint Jeffrey LaCasse to assist in the Surplus Property Programs. Phil Grannan will continue to work on grants for the town.
